PUBLIC NOTICE - Please note that the section of the Five Pits Trail from Tibshelf to Pilsley will be closed to Horse riders and Cyclists from 5.00 pm till 8.00 pm on Thursday 6th May, 2004.  Walkers are advised to take extra care when using this section of  the trail between those times due to the events that are taking place. PLEASE ENSURE DOGS ARE KEPT UNDER CONTROL, PREFERABLY ON A LEAD, IF YOU ARE EXERCISING THEM ON THE TRAIL DURING THE AFORE MENTIONED TIMES.  Thank you.

EVENTS TAKING PLACE AT TIBSHELF

6.00 pm - Opening and dedication of the Tom Hulatt Mile section of the Five Pits Trail and unveiling of the commemorative stones by His Grace the Duke of Devonshire  to take place on Tibshelf Common.

6.05 pm - Start of Fun Run along the Tom Hulatt Mile.

ATHLETIC EVENTS - Under the guidance and control of the Derbyshire County Athletic Association.

6.45 pm - Junior Schools' Mile Relay (Sponsored by Allegro Transport Ltd.)

7.00 pm - U13 Mixed Mile (Sponsored by SAPA Profiles Ltd.)

7.15 pm - U15 Mixed Mile (Sponsored by SAPA Profiles Ltd.)

7.30 pm - Open Mile (Sponsored by Sweatshop Ltd.)

7.45 pm - Snr. Ladies Invitation Mile (Sponsored by the THCC)

8.00 pm - Snr. Mens Invitation Mile (Sponsored by the THCC)

ENTERTAINMENT

A full entertainment program from 5.30 pm till 9.30 pm  including:-

Soul River - An 11 piece soul band playing Motown Classics.

Direction Theatre Arts - Performing Arts School. Group and Solo performances from many aspects of Showbiz.

Katya - One of the areas most popular young vocalists.

Hosted, and disco interludes, by Richard Spinks (Peak 107 FM)

9.30 pm - Fireworks to end the night.

EVENTS TAKING PLACE AT PILSLEY

6.00 pm - Pilsley Primary School Choir with songs in the grounds of Hardwick Hall.

6.20 pm - Debbie Robinson (Great Britain and England International) starts solo run from Hardwick Hall to Pilsley carrying the "Bess of Hardwick" torch.  Beacons lit at Hardwick Green, Hardwick Inn and Pilsley entrance to the Five Pits Trail.

7.00 pm - Commemorative Stone at Pilsley unveiled by four children from the village.  Procession of runners to make their way to Tibshelf along the Tom Hulatt Mile.
